I got a new cable box now my tv screen keeps going black

My new cable box is causing my TV to have a black screen constantly. And I refuse to change from 1080 to 720 as been suggested in the past

It took me forever to post this because I couldn’t open the last 2 questions. When I went back and forth, I lost my original complaint. Comcast you need to fix this issue, it is so frustrating to even post here.

@user_i1q46b Have you attempted using a different HDMI cable/port on the TV? Is it just the cable box causing the black screen or are other devices experiencing it as well?

I’ve returned the new 5K box and got another new one that is the same as my old box. It was still going black/grey. So I tried a different hdmi cable, same problem. Once I plugged in the older lines that have red, black and white (don’t quote me on those colors) and the old out to tv cable in it’s been much better. I don’t have anything else connected between my tv and cable box. 
I'm just happy it’s gotten better even if I’m back to having a jungle of wires behind my tv again.
