How to record all basketball on TNT, for example

I want to record all basketball games on TNT but have not been able to figure out how to do it.  When I select a program, I can record it or either of the two teams involved, but I can't seem to be able to indicate that I want to record them all.  If I select a channel, I can set up a one-time manual recording.

Seems unlikely that this would not be an option, so would appreciate pointers.

Hi @0xFAFA! You can record a series on your X1 DVR, however you would need to go to each game and setup the series recording. You can set it up on your DVR or even in the Xfinity Stream app. We don't currently have an option for recording the same types of programming or setting recording for a specific channel, but that's a great suggestion (especially for the sports seasons) that I can bring up to our developers.

Record a Series

  1. Press the Guide button on the remote.
  2. Select a program and press OK on the remote.
Guide Menu displays a grid of TV program listings.
  3. Highlight Record and press OK.
Highlight the desired action from the options list at the bottom of the Guide menu screen. Options include Episodes, Record, Other Times and Series Info. Record is highlighted.
  4. Highlight All future episodes and press OK.
Record options display in center screen with options to record just this episode or all future episodes.
  5. You can also choose your recording options by selecting All episodes:
    • Record: Record only new episodes or record new and repeat episodes.
    • Channels: Set your HD or SD channel preference.
    • Save: Save until space is needed or for one year.
    • Keep: Keep all episodes or keep multiple episodes.
    • Start: Start on time or start one or two minutes early.
    • Stop: Stop on time or three, five or thirty minutes late.

Note: You can change these options later by going into the series you want to modify at Menu > Saved > Scheduled then select the recording. Choose Record Options, Modify and then All Episodes.

Thank you so much for trying this out. Have you tried removing 'favorite'   and adding it again? On the Stream app you also have the option to make this your 'favorite by clicking on the notification (bell) icon at the top and press the 'record team' option in the middle of the page (if you look for the team on the search tool).

I'm sorry but I don't understand the comment about removing 'favorite' and adding it again.  My fault for merging in a second issue (the iPad stream app not providing a "record" option despite documentation indicating it does per https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-xfinity-tv-app-schedule-a-recording).

So 2 issues:

1) Not possible to to specify that I want to record a sports series (e.g. every thursday there are two NBA games on TNT) - I only have the options of recording an individual game, or setting up recurring recordings for either of the two teams that are in that particular game.

2) Not possible to record from the iPad stream app despite documentation saying otherwise.  Have to switch to the remote app, and set up the recording from there.  So the question is: is the documentation wrong or is there some setup on my iPad that prevents recording.

I do appreciate all the information and for working with us on this. At this time, there is no way to record all the games that air on TNT specifically. This feature is only set for series of TV shows etc. it would be a great feature to be added in the future, so I will gladly pass it along.

I no longer work for Comcast.

Thanks for the response.  However, this option is not available for sports programs.  You only get the options of "this game", and then an option for each of the two teams that are involved.

Also, on the iPad stream app I don't see an option for "record".  I only see an option for "watch" or "info".  The app is up to date.   However, I do see the record option in the "remote" app.

to do this, what I do select every team to be recorded. I did this with ausie football and with NWSL games. takes a little time and patience to get all the teams selected but once you get them all in, works great. I also did this with other sports, just selecting some teams instead of all, like all Michigan men's basketball, and all michigan women's field hockey. haven't hit a limit yet for number of teams I assume there is a limit to be hit somewhere along the line.

        hope that helped.
