How to get a Sofabaton U1 remote with an Xfinity X2G2v2-P

I purchased a Sofabaton U1 Universal remote control.  All of my AV components paired successfully except for my Xfinity X1 service.
I understand that the remote is ir only.  I have read that the Xfinity X1 should also be able to use ir.

I would appreciate any assistance on how to make ir available to the U1 remote.

@Rob_555  Thank you for reaching out.

Do you still have the previous remote paired to the box? You'd need to unpair it first, and make sure that the line of sight to the box is clear and close when setting it up, the boxes do support both IR and RF, if the box is behind say a closed cabinet door, you'll want to check it with it open as well.

Have you checked with Sofabatons support for that device, by chance?

@XfinityShan

Thanks for your reply.  Sofabaton  was little help.  Before I unpair the original remote, I have a question.  Is it possible to use an ir and rf remote or only one  per setup.  I would like to use the Sofabaton however, my wife would like to continue to use the Xfinity remote.  Is this possible.

Many thanks for your assistance.

I believe the U1 is an IR remote like Harmony.  I have used Harmonys with Comcast while the X1 boxes remain paired to the Xfinity RF remotes.  So, you should be able to use SofaBaton while your wife uses Xfinity.  But, in my experience, the RF responsiveness is much better than what you get from IR.

@Rob_555   You would need to use one remote with the box. You wouldn't be able to have multiple remotes paired with it at once.

@XfinityShan Are you sure?   I have an XR15 and XR11 both paired to one of my XG1v4 boxes.   Also, I don't think the SofaBaton U1 pairs with the X1 box.  It just sends IR commands.
