How Do the Smaller X-1 Boxes Communicate With the Larger, Main Box

I am curious to how the smaller X-1 tv boxes communicate with the main, larger box.  I have one main box and three different tvs connected to X-1 using the smaller Xfinity boxes.  Do the smaller boxes get the tv signal from the coax cable hooked to the back of them and get all the other things such as recordings, on demand, fast forward, pause, etc from the main box wirelessly? Or is the information exchanged with the larger box via signals sent through the coax cable connected to the smaller boxes?  I hope I explained this correctly.  Thanks for any clarification provided.

Great question, the main box had a hard drive so the secondary boxes run off signals that are sent to the other boxes, so they work off the same hardware as the main box

@XfinityOrlandoM Thanks!  But how do they receive these signals from the big box...is it wireless or is it somehow sent via the coaxial cable?  That is the question I would like an answer to.  Also when the boxes are updated each night is it wirelessly or through the coaxial cable?

Great question! Yes, all signals and updates are wirelessly.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I had an Xfinity technician out today and he told me the X-1 system communication between the main box and the satellite boxes is via the coaxial cable and not wirelessly.
