How do I change the default channel
My TV used to startup with the last station watched. It no longer does that. How can I revert to the old way?

I'm having the same problem, with a twist. When I turn on the TV in the morning or evening it goes to my NBC channel. In the afternoon it goes to the Golf Channel. It never goes back to the last channel viewed, unless it was NBC or Golf. It started doing this a few weeks ago. I've done a reset, I've done a restart, I've done every mentioned potential fix mentioned here. Nothing has worked. If it was just me I'd say it's the X box, but obviously it's not just me. At least it takes me to channels that I normally watch. If it took me to Fox I'd be looking for a new provider.

I'm having the exact same issue with one of my boxes. Troubleshooting didn't help. Every time I turn on my TV it's 843, no matter what I was watching before I shut it off. I'm just thankful it's ATT SportsNet and not Fox "News" like others have 😆

I have same issues. Ever since Tucker left Fox News, my X1 box ALWAYS defaults to Fox News now. I tried blocking it with a PIN, I removed it as a favorite (Ive got maybe 15 channels as favorite), reset it,etc. If i turn it off just for a short term i will return to the last watched, but after a longer time has passed, it ALWAYS DEFAULTS TO SAME CHANNEL I HAVEN'T TURNED ON IN A WEEK OR TWO. I no long watch fox news and this issue needs to be fixed. Now everytime I turn it on, Fox News appears, asking for a pin number (which i set with hopes to block it). What the heck have you people done with our cable settings ?????? FIX IT !!!!!

I have the same problem -- it used to start up with last station watched, now it always starts up with the tennis channel. Very annoying!

The solution provided by mshaum below which works is to open settings, device settings, power preferences, and then ensure HDMI-CIC is turned off. This fixes the issue. Will have to wait and see if any updates make changes to this. If so, will just have to go back into settings to set it to off again. Thanks to mshaum for this fix. It was driving my wife crazy, lol. Happy wife = happy life. Too bad Xfinity could not figure this out.

The post by @mshaun below to turn off HDMI-CIC in power settings seems to be the fix. Worked for me and others it seems. Have a blessed day!

This is not a fix. It’s happening to me too. This “fix” is working around the problem by never actually turning the cable box off, so it’s wasting power. Comcast, you need to fix this. It’s been happening for over a month and is widespread. I assumed you were defaulting us to NBC because they own you, but I see some saying they’re defaulting to another channel which is surprising.

I too have this problem. It started about a week ago. Every time I start up my system Fox News, channel 265, comes on. I've unplugged the box and restarted it several times, taken the channel off favorites and relisted it, toggled the power saver on and off a few times, but I couldn't find my "history" to clear (I have an XR15 remote). also the ap says the box is "unavailable" and just comes up with a purple screen that stays there if you troubleshoot.
Nothing works. Has anyone gotten this fixed?
