hdmi converter - new x1 box
I have been using an HDMI converter with a Roku box. Switched it out with new X1 box (not enough wifi in the area to get a consistent signal for the Roku)....can't complete setup. Rainbow colors of no signal on TV, been on and off with tech support; rebooted entire system, over and over.
Am using all Xfinity cables, etc - waiting for the '60 minute' boost up.
Got it almost to the set up spot, told them "English" and now it said "check your cables". Now nothing
Anyone have luck using an HDMI converter? it worked fine with the Roku box.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

Thank you, I have done that, and I got three different opinions. Mostly they said that an HDMI converter would not work with the X1 box, but didn't say why. So I'm returning the X1 box and instead am going to attempt to increase the wifi strength in that room, either by getting a better extender or moving the pods around.
