HD resolution

My previous cable box recognized my HD service.  Previously I would select the analog  channel with my remote and it would take me to te associated HD channel

When I go to settings > preferences > general  under:Prefer best available resolution. I see a message  stating  HD  service required. To upgrade your serve, please go to xfinity.com and select My Account. 

However it show I have HD service. Support  provide no help. When I go to the store  the keep giving me new boxes and remotes.  This did not resolve my issue.

@mnation1  Can you get an HD channel in HD by going to it directly?  Also, what is the output resolution of your X1 box?
