Have received over twenty XRE, RDK codes since 3/19/24....

Have an XGiv4 box, have received over twenty XRE, RDK error messages since March. Service freezes almost every other day, have to refresh/reboot system. Box moved to ventilated area, risers placed under box (still feels overly hot).

Hello user_76ceut and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forum. I appreciate the information you provided. You are in the right spot to help find a solution for this cable box issue. To troubleshoot a hot XGiv4 box experiencing XRE and RDK errors, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the power to the XGiv4 box and wait for it to cool down.

2. Check the cable connections and ensure they are tightly secured.

3. Verify that the main XG1/XG2 box is online and working.

4. Update the firmware on both the XGiv4 box and the main XG1/XG2 box if necessary.

5. Plug the power back into the main XG1/XG2 box first and wait for the picture to appear.

6. Plug the power back into the XGiv4 box.

If the errors persist, please let us know. We can look into shipping you a replacement cable box or you can exchange the one you have at an Xfinity Service Center near you.

XfinityChristy...thank you for the reply, I looked in all the settings in order to update the firmware on my XGiv4 and can't find anything. I've unplugged and refreshed the box approximately three times over the last five days, I'm going to attempt a trip to my local store for a box exchange when I can get away from work.

Hi there, @user_76ceut I'm very sorry for the trouble and the inconvenience you are experiencing with your TV box. Were you able to get the box swapped out?-Richard
