Generic Box Installed

We reached out to xfinity because of an issue regarding the screen being stuck on optimizing video. A tech came today and changed the box and now doesn’t have the clock display and it’s says generic box in recent activity. He also updated our account without permission. Is this a thing?

Greetings, @Tempestgto!  I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your cable box, but you have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

 

When you say the tech changed the box, and now there isn't a clock display, did you mean the new box doesn't have that feature, or is the clock display not working? Can you tell me what sort of update was made to your account, besides the box being changed? Did your channel lineup change with the new box, or was there a different concern we can look into for you?
