garbled X1 TV audio

Like others, I'm experiencing intermittent garbled audio on one of my TV boxes (the other works fine). So frustrating that a fix has not been discussed. I've swapped out the TV boxes, sound bars & HDMI cables many times but the issue continues. I just recently discovered the existence of wireless Xfinity TV boxes.  If I were to connect the TV via the Xi6 wireless box (to eliminate the potential coax variable that could theoretically be causing the issue) would I still be able to record shows?  Has anyone tried this?

Hi there, @user_0a1c3d I hope you're having a good holiday weekend! Yes, you can still record shows with a Xi6, as it connects to your Xfinity service wirelessly and doesn't rely on a coaxial cable for its core functions, though you may need a separate companion device if your chosen Xfinity plan still uses a traditional X1 DVR for recording. The Xi6's functionality for recording is not dependent on the coaxial cable connection, allowing it to be used for this purpose. -Richard

Thank you - how do I tell if “my chosen plan still uses a traditional X1 DVR for recording”?  I’d like to try having just 2 wireless boxes while continuing to record and view recordings.
