Followed instructions but remote won’t work
MyXr15 remote stopped working even after I changed batteries. I followed all instructions from live chat with xfinity and the issue is not resolved. The problem was that the instructions required pairing the remote with the tv and, because I am stuck on HMDI 1 ( roku), I can’t access the steps that should appear on the tv screen. I tried to disconnect HDMI1. When only HDMI2 is connected I see a message of “ no signal check input”. I don’t have the original tv remote and cannot change input manually on my tv. I see the box green dot when I press buttons on the remote, but voice command to pair, pushing both the xfinity button and the I button does not change anything on the screen. The technician says I need a new remote. I got the xfinity remote app but it doesn’t have an input change button. Is there something else I can do?

@user_93e9ee, honestly there is nothing anyone from Comcast is going to be able to do to assist you with this. You need to switch your X1 box with the Roku, so it is operable via that HDMI1 input. You can pair the remote with the tv at that point. Once paired, you can use it as is or you may be able to go to a Xfinity store to swap your XR-15 for an XR-11, which has the "TV Input" button that controls your television's input. However, without your television's original remote these types of things become way more difficult and less reliable. If I were you I would "bite the bullet" and order an original television remote from the manufacturer or off Amazon. This way you can easily control your input functionality and many other features of your TV that no Xfinity remote will have the capabilities of doing. If you cannot easily switch the X1 device to the HDMI1 input, then you have no choice but to get the television's original remote.
Hope this helps.

@user_93e9ee I can definitely understand the frustration. It looks like @Here4Help has provided the best troubleshooting steps I would be able to provide to be able to complete the process of pairing your remote. Were you able to get everything sorted out?
