Fast forward does not appear on recorded shows on DVR
why does the Fast forward function does not appear on recorded shows on DVR? how is it restored? I have already done a restart and a system refresh with no success.

when you find it is not working, press the down button on the remote. does source on bottom left show "DVR" or "cloud icon + DVR" or "on-demand" ?

spent an hour on the phone with a Xfinity tech who re-paired my remote with the TV. FF on the DVR worked briefly but no longer. Now only "DVR" appears. the cloud icon no longer appears. Confusing why this is happening again. Had little confidence the tech was aware of the problem or a solution.
what governs whether just "DVR" appears or the cloud icon also appears? What is the significance of this?

does rewind work if FF does not work? does the LED flash green when you press the FF button?
When you make a recording, the Comcast server tells a DVR in your home to record the program, and also tells your cloud DVR to record the program. some channels that are IP only channels can't currently be recorded by your home physical DVR so the cloud DVR copy is available (the cloud icon) to the home DVR. either type of recording should be able to rewind/ pause/ fast forward.

intermittently the FF icon does not appear when viewing a DVR recording. When it is gone, the FF function only works haltingly if at all. The rewind icon is always there and also works haltingly at times. At the moment, the FF icon is present and the green LED flashes when the FF is used.
