Expert Audio Mode
When I select Expert mode with my X1 4k box xg1v4 sometimes I get Dolby digital plus but sometimes I get just Dolby digital and 2.0 Audio with say sub channels. When I select just Dolby digital plus above Expert mode Dolby digital plus always outputs to my Bose 900 soundbar. Is this a bug with X1 software or is my box broke? Even did restart of box.

@tstack thank you so much for your post for help on the Expert sound mode on your x1 box. The Expert modem works with programs that use Dolby ATMOS sound if you are trying to view a program that does not support the ATMOS sound then that might be why you are encountering the different levels. Is your sound bar connected via HDMI cables from ARC or eARC marked connectors on the TV to the sound bar?

Sound bar HDMI connected from back of HDMI (eARC) to Sony TV (eARC) port. Very simple connection

is the sound bar ARC or eARC? (usually a green outline outlet) It is important to set the TV audio menu to match capability of the sound bar. did you set your sound bar to 'normal' (aka passthrough) so format is not modified? if using an eARC to eARC you need a bit better cable than most, also.
