Hello @user_a7679c, thank you for reaching out to us for help with your Evo 1-5-U/U installation. The Evo should have come with installation instructions, which we do recommend following, but we are glad to help where we can!
The first port on your Evo is is where you would connect the signal coming from the tap, this will supply the other ports with the signal they need. The 2nd port on the Evo is where you would connect your Modem/Gateway/EMTA. The 3rd port is for any amplifiers that you may have connected in your home, and the following 4 ports are for any cable boxes.
