ESPN constantly stuttering
I have been having an issue with frequent video "stuttering" when watching live TV, particularly ESPN.
So far, it seems that it only happens to ESPN, but I don't regularly watch any other channels so I can't be certain. However, if I leave ESPN on and just watch for a minute, the feed will stutter for a half second repeatedly. It really makes the channel unwatchable. The stuttering happens on both the live feed and during most commercials. Occasionally there is a commercial where there won't be a stutter/hiccup, but it does frequently happen during most commercials. At first I thought it was an issue with a new TV we just bought, but this same issue persists across each of the three televisions we have. On our primary TV we have an XG1v4 box, and then on the two other TVs we have the smaller HD boxes. All of the TVs experience the same issue when watching ESPN. I've run the signal strength check on each of the boxes and each returns a result of "good" signal strength. I've tried disconnecting and then reconnecting the coaxial cable on each of the boxes with no luck. I've performed two separate system refreshes and still no improvement. I also tried watching ESPN via the Xfinity web interface (https://www.xfinity.com/stream/) thinking that maybe it had something to do with the signal coming into our house, but then I noticed when I was watching via the web interface, the stutter/hiccup would occur at the exact same moment as it happens on the live TV feed, leading me to believe it's some backend issue between ESPN/Xfinity. For example, the other day I was watching a basketball game on ESPN on the TV via the cable box and then also had the same game open on the web interface on my laptop. The web interface feed was around 15 seconds or so behind live TV (which is completely normal in my experience). When I noticed the stutter on the TV feed, I looked down at my laptop and when the web interface feed caught up to the point where I saw the stutter on the TV live feed, the web interface stream would also stutter at the same exact spot. At this point I'm out of ideas, but ESPN is unwatchable.
One other thing I'd note in case someone else is looking into this issue is that when watching via the Xfinity Stream app, the feed is perfect, or at least it was for the 5 or so minutes I watched the other day. ESPN constantly stutters on live TV and on the web interface, but not in the Xfinity Stream app. Hopefully this gets resolved soon since ESPN is a primary channel for us.
If there is any other info you think would be helpful or would like for me to provide, please let me know and I'll provide it as soon as I can. I can also record my screen and share the video if it would be helpful in understanding the problem.

the original post had all the information needed to understand issue (ESPN). for regular terrestrial stations, the signal is fed by fiber data directly to Comcast and that signal goes directly to streaming and cloud recording. the signal also goes to your local cable 'plant' (distribution center) through amplifiers/modulators/splitters and finally to your home via a coax cable. since two different paths (your TV via set top box and web page streaming) with the same data then you know it is an ESPN (related) problem. I don't know if ESPN delivers the stream to Comcast via fiber or by satellite downlink but either way it is 'by' ESPN. note that this week, we've had a very strong CME (coronal mass ejection) that hit the earth's atmosphere that causes the satellite feeds to 'glitch' or worse.

I have been frustrated over the last week with ESPN, ESPN2, sometimes TNT having the same issues indicated in this post. After making several calls to Xfinity and reading pretty much every post on this issue over the past 6 years, it is very apparent that this is and will always be an ongoing problem because Xfinity refuses to acknowledge there is a problem. All they keep doing via these posts and with their call centers is to make you think it's your problem and that you have to reset the box, check all your connections and refresh the system, none of which does any good. Even after telling them that I have spoken to 3 of my neighbors and telling them that they are all experiencing the same exact problem, they don't acknowledge any issue or are willing to help find a solution. At this point, I am reaching out to see if anyone has been so frustrated and has looked into other TV service providers.
