DVR will NOT record shows on certain channels. DVR refusing to record shows. Scheduled series not recording - shows red circle with slash

Here's a simple description of my problem that manifests itself in the aforementioned posts:

I have a subscription that includes HD premium. I'm able to list the premium channels using the GUIDE menu option. I can also play the premium channels.  However, when I use GUIDE to view only those channels that are "Free to me", the premium channels are not listed.

I was finally able to contact a tier two technical support representative and explained the problem as: "I am subscribed to 220 channels including premium HD channels.  I can Play the premium channels, but not record them".  He "re-provisioned' my network modem (not my DVR box), and this action resolved the problem.  Then, just to be sure everything synched up, he reset the DVR box (a Pace XG1a).

Now, all is well.
