DVR will not delete recordings

About a month ago, suddenly a bunch of DVR recordings we had deleted, repopulated into our active recordings.  Now we can't delete them at all.  I've tried to delete them off of the cable box, I've restarted the cable box, I've resynched the DVR.  I have researched this endlessly, and have done everything I could find to do to fix this issue.  Nothing has worked.  What is the issue, and how can it be resolved?

Well, this has been going on for a month or more, with no communication from Xfinity about it one way or another.  How is anyone supposed to know you have identified this as a problem.  We are pretty close to going with another TV provider because of cost, but have refrained because of convenience.  I would like more of an answer than "working towards a solution".
