I have the XG1v3. If I upgrade to the XG1v4 will my recordings and favorited shows transfer over, or will I lose them?

Most X1 recordings are duplicated as Cloud DVR recordings. You will still have those available on the new DVR. You can double-check what is available as Cloud DVR by using the Xfinity Stream app or web site and look at what recordings are available. Any that do NOT show up on Xfinity Stream are only available on that DVR. There is no way to transfer a recording that is only on one DVR to another DVR.
Favorites, scheduled recordings, etc... are not tied to a box and are part of your X1 video account. Again, you can double-check using Xfinity Stream to verify everything is there.

@DjDashE Xfinity X1 TV Boxes can now access Cloud DVR recordings, which helps to increase the playback success of DVR recordings and ensure that you retain your recordings in the event of an X1 DVR box swap. You will no longer lose DVR recordings saved to an old device.
