DVR stops recording before show is over

Seems to happen on TLC. Dr Pimple Popper, My Feet are Killing me and 600 lb life. It also starts recording before the show starts, so you get the end of the previous show.

Thank you, I changed the stop time to add 5 minutes to the end of the shows.

the set recordings and hot recordings start and stop on the basis of the programming guide times. in your set top box preferences you can turn on auto pad to add before and after minutes automatically if tuners are available. do you have more than one set top box DVR? if so you may be running out of tuners if you don't have at least one xg2 hub (provides up to 3 tuners to other companion set top boxes restoring maximum tuner available to the DVR. is your DVR an xg1-A ? if so it probably only has 5 tuners available instead of 6.

The main issue is that in order to compact the channels together, they run them through compression routines that introduce delays. These are now up to 15-20 seconds or more. It varies from network to network, so Comcast can't simply set the clocks behind.

On top of that, some networks seem to deliberately run programs short or long, or lie to the guide data suppliers about the times.
