DVR recording issue

When asking my DVR to record all *new* episodes of South Park, it schedules *all* episodes of South Park -- i.e., new and old episodes. Is this a problem just with South Park? I have made this same recording request on my DVR for other shows, and it works just fine.

user_p80evm thank you for sharing that information with me. If the DVR is recording both old and new episodes despite being set to "Only New Episodes", check the show's Rerecord Options — the DVR setting “Only New Episodes” will record only episodes the network lists as New; if the network marks an episode as New on one channel but Repeat on another, recordings can vary. Also verify Channel Option (HD Preferred / SD Preferred / This Channel Only) because choosing “This Channel Only” may miss episodes airing on other channels and cause unexpected duplicates; change to HD or SD Preferred or schedule a one-time recording to force a duplicate.

I have verified all of these things. And it's still a problem. The shows that get scheduled are all from the same channel -- Comedy Central.

No. The only one that shows as "new" is the one I actually want to record. All of the others say "repeat".

Thanks for checking on that. I will sometimes see that when a new network picks up a show to air. Like TNT airing South Park when it would normally be on Comedy Central. Those will be marked as new when I check them, though repeats. We will need to further investigate why that is happening.

Actually, the ones that it records don't say "new" or "repeat". I just rechecked that. The ones that come up when I want to record all new episodes are the new episodes as well as all the ones that are not marked "new" or "repeat". For example, on Comedy Central, if you look at the South Park that is on October 19th at 5:00 a.m., as well as a bunch right after that, they do not have a "new" or "repeat" designation. So perhaps the issue is that, if a show is not marked as "new", it should not be included in the scheduled recordings for new episodes. It seems that those that do not have any designation are considered as new, which seems to be the wrong choice.

I appreciate you rechecking those episodes, @user_p80evm. You are correct that if they are not marked by the Network as new or repeat, our system treats them as a new recording. This ensures you don't miss any new episodes since we are uncertain if they are new when not marked by the Network. If you send over a direct message I can open a ticket to report this. The ticket team gets in touch with the Network to let them know of the error in the listings.
