DVR Recording - HD Locals are recording in SD
Not sure why my earlier topic was locked - so apologizes for starting a new one, however the issue still remains. Apologies as I didn't see anyway to reopen it.
I noticed in the last week or so, that any recordings (manual or scheduled) for NBC 5 Chicago, are recording in SD. I thought this was just related to NBC 5, but I noticed another scheduled recording for CBS - also recorded in SD.
Manually selecting the channel shows in HD.
I noticed this back with release 105.1.1 - but I've since been updated to 106.1.1 and the issue exists.

press Xfinity >> saved >> scheduled >> down then up >> right to series priority >> ok button. press down until you find the series recording. when 'cursor' is on the item press info button. record options, modify. what shows under the 'channels' option? is it a channel's call letters?

Yes... I'ts showing the stations call letters - not HD Preferred. So that explains why it's chosing SD instead of HD on those recordings. Thank you!
Now, I'm curious as to why only some of these have randomly changed. Some scheduled recordings have been there for sometime .
Is there a way to globally "reset" everything back to preferr HD?

normally .. xfinity button >> settings (gear) >> preferences >> genearl >> prefer best available resolution (on) should take care of that. perhaps comcast has lost the association of SD to HD station versions if that setting is on. remove the recording and find next recording on the guide on the HD channel and press the record button on the remote and set up the 'new' recording on the HD channel.

This just happened to our DVR. All of our regularly scheduled recordings changed from the HD channel to the SD channel. Not sure how it happened, but we had to delete all our scheduled recordings and add them again on the proper HD channels.
