DVR recording all shows not "only New"

I have my cloud-based DVR service set to record new shows only and to keep 4 episodes. It is recording old shows also and more than I selected. in some instances it is showing it has kept over 20.

My cloud-based DVR was not working correctly. I contacted customer support and received a replacement unit. The new one is detecting new shows only and recording only the number of episodes selected.

It depends on the quality of the Guide data Comcast gets from their provider, and what the networks send to the provider. If there is no New/Repeat flag, it is treated as new.

you can look at upcoming recordings. if the episode is not marked 'repeat' then it will be recorded.

I gave the same problem, I check ssScheduled and there may be 10 or more ready to record and they are all repeats I have set as new only very frustrating

knowing they are repeats and havng the listing flag 'repeat' are two different things. look at the listing. does it say 'new' "repeat" or nothing?

Since the X1 on screen guide does not indicate new programs at a glance, I have the TV Guide app installed which does indicate new programs and then use that to compare against the on screen guide to find and record new programs on the X1 guide.
