DVR is recording unwanted recordings

I am a relative newcommer to Xfinity's DVR system. I have set the DVR to record episodes of two soap operas for my mother. I need to show her how to operate the DVR, but first I need to learn how to use it myself.

I have been experiancing a problem that I haven't been able to find a solution to anywhere in the settings. When I check the recordings, the DVR has apparently recorded several hundred episodes of each. Most of the episodes recorded are those that are only available through streaming services like Peacock and ABC, or must be purchased.

I have checked the settings for both soap operas and both have the Record option set to "New Episodes Only" and have the Channels option set to WTVJD for one and WPLGD for the other. Despite both recording options being set to record only new episodes and to only record from the channels that are part of my package, the DVR keeps recording hundreds of episodes from those streaming apps and also episodes that must be purchased.

I also haven't been able to find a way to individually delete the episode from those streaming services or those that must be purchased. None of them have the delete option listed anywhere. By contrast, the episodes that were recorded from the channels in my package have the delete option available. All these additional episodes are taking up a lot of valuable and needed space in the DVR. We have only recording six episodes altogether (3 from each of the two), yet our DVR is 30% full. There is no way that six episodes recorded from the channels in our package can take up 30% of the storage space.

Isn't there way to stop the DVR from recording the episodes from these streaming services or those that have to be purchased?

Thank you for reaching out to us in the Forums. That would be frustrating having all those recordings you didn't ask for. You are in the right place and I can help.
