Dolby Digital Not Working XG2v2-S.
I have a Vizio sound bar and I can not select Dolby Digital as a sound option. I have the comcast box plugged into the HDMI IN of the soundbar and then I have HDMI (ARC) plugged into the HDMI (ARC) of the TV. The TV is a NU6900 Samsung. I know it is not the soundbar because I can play dolby through the PS4 and I can also get 4k and dolby from the sound bar if I watch netflix from the TV menu. I thought maybe my HDMI cables were bad / old so I replaced both of those and still did not solve the problem. I have tried both AUTO (dolby digital) and expert from the xfinity box settings with no luck. From the TV I can only select bitstream / PCM and both dolby options are greyed out. Any body have any suggestions?

ARC is for audio. do you have HDMI out to TV HDMI connection on the sound bar? the owner's manuals usually give example hookup recommendations that would show how they recommend hookup.

wrong connection. connect the set top box to the TV HDMI1 (one) port. connect the ARC HDMI cable from the TV to the input connector on the sound bar. ARC is audio return channel not video return channel. you may need to set the set top box to audio 'expert' if the sound bar is not properly detected by its device type digital ID.

So I switched the cable and PS4 and the cable is in HDMI 1 on TV. Now I get dolby digital through Cable, but not the PS4. The soundbar has an HDMI IN and an ARC out. What is the purpose of the HDMI in if you cant pass it to the TV? Talking to the Vizio rep he said "Still, the soundbar should get Dolby Digital through the In port" I am still confused but thinking about buying an HDMI switch
