Delete unwanted channels

Has a feature enhancement request been made to Comcast Labs to be able to delete unwanted channels? The easiest way to do that would be to make your favorites list be selectable as the only channels you see when you manually change channels with the channel up and down button on the remote.

That is how it works for now.

I think the request was to be able to make channel up/down on the remote follow the list of favorites only instead of flipping through the hundreds you don't want in between (while playing, not just in the guide).   The closest you can come is to use the xfinity remote control app on a phone/tablet where you can show the favorites in the guide view and just touch the ones you want to flip through the list.   Maybe 'next favorite channel' could be made into a voice command.

I have favorites set and my guide default set to favorites. With FIOS you can set favorites to be your channel list so you don't see all the channels you don't like or don't subscribe to. My wife suffers from some Dyslexia and can't handle dealing with the channel guide so she surfs all the channels. The combination of the much slower channel change/access speed with Xfinity when compared to FIOS and the unwanted channels is causing a lot if disatisfaction for her.  When she is unhappy I am made unhappy and I agree with her about how annoying this is. Having to say "next favorite" with the voice command would be tiresome for someone surfing the channels along with anyone else in the same room.

Setting the  favorites to be the channel list isn't rocket science and this shouldn't be hard for Comcast to do.

Channel surfing always seemed very non-productive to me, regardless of the number of channels you have to traverse - there will always be too much you don't want to watch.   Have you considered setting series recordings for the shows you are likely to ever want to see but only set to keep the latest one or two?    Then you just have to navigate the saved recordings which will all be things you might want to watch.

My wife and my elderly mother can't handle interaction with menu systems. The simple solution is to be able to set  the favorite list as the only channels you see when manually changing channels.  This again would be easy for Comcast to do. With FIOS you can have two Favorite lists. If we had known Comcast was denying customers the ability to do this my wife would have said no to the move from FIOS to Comcast.

How does someone find out if Comcast has change/enhancement requests open on this issue and what the status is?

The favorites channel has been an on going issue for several years and so far nothing has been done to change it.  I also came from a FIOS area and have found that xfinity cannot be compared to FIOS at all.  But, when it is the "only kid on the block" so to speak there is not much that will be done I hate to say.  I have been told several times "you are going to have to live with the issue" which I find totally unacceptable.  I ended up going to my states Dept. of Telecommunications to report the issues, that got all sorts of response from comcast but I still have the issues with lots of workarounds, no solution

.  Until some good solid other cable vendor comes into the area I am stuck with comcast
