Daily updates

Can I turn off daily updates. Every morning I have to  reset both the tv and remote. It seems that all my activation steps are erased every night after the updates. This is extremely annoying.

Suggest you swap your device,  that usually means a hardware failure.

@XfinityChad2 Hi, On my boxes the default has always been 2-4 AM, which leads to my question- will Xfinity ever give even more flexibility for the update?  In my case 1-3 AM  or 2-3 AM would be much better, but not offered. It seems more often than not, it updates right around 4am, when I want to watch TV.

@XfinitySara Hello Sara,

The link you provided just confirms what I said in my post-the default is not 3-4 AM as the link states.

It is 2-4 am on my boxes. And all the options are  in 2 hour increments, which does not help me any.

Thanks for reaching back out, @tbill1! I apologize for any confusion on my part. It sounded like your updates are taking place close to or at the time you start watching TV, so I provided a link with instructions for moving that window back to another time altogether (whether it is a one or two-hour window). Is there some reason it doesn't work for you to simply move the two-hour timeframe to a different time of day?

It doesn't work for me because the earlier option is 12:00-2:00AM, and I often record programs in that time frame. But almost never

from 1-3 AM, which isn't an option that is provided. I often start watching a recorded game in the 3:45 to 4 area and more times than not the update

is taking place.

What do you mean by the activation steps are erased? Does it go through the first-time setup every time you wake up?
