Control TV Input With X11 Remote

I can program X11 remote to power on TCL TV and I can call up Input menu but can’t change the input. Tried all 10 codes. Same as old closed thread.

Hi @user_w1xtxs. Some TV manufacturers can not have their inputs changed with the XR11 remote. We recommend upgrading to our latest awesome XR15 remote that has more capabilities. You can visit your local Xfinity store anytime and pick one up for free!

I have programmed (including reset) an XR15 with several different codes (found more yesterday) provided by Xfinity. I have attempted to use the programming codes for not only TCL, but Insignia and RCA. I have manually programmed the XR15 by A+D-->991, Volume Up until Power Off.

None of these methods has allowed me to change the Input on the TV with the XR15. It will power On and Off the TV and inadvertently programmed Volume on a Zvox soundbar. Many of the codes bring up the Input menu, but there is no way to scroll through the options.

@user_w1xtxs Have you contacted the TV manufacturer to verify the remote is compatible?

... I can call up Input menu but can’t change the input ...

On some sets pressing an Xfinity remote's "TV Input" button displays the TV's Input menu, then further presses cycle between the available inputs. Pausing for a few seconds will change to the selected input. But other sets require the user to press other keys to select an input and/or an Enter or Select or OK key to switch to the new source. If your set requires a key other than Input and/or an Enter/Select/OK button press, you won't be able to use the X1 remote to change the input. X1 remotes send Enter/Select/OK to cable boxes, but not to TV sets. The only keys sent to TV sets are Input, Volume/Mute, and Power, and the remotes are not "learning" remotes.
