Comcast Wi-Fi-based 4K Cable Boxes Failing

Last week my only Comcast Wi-Fi-based 4K cable box (Xi6-A) started failing.  Home Wi-Fi is perfectly fine.

Replaced the Xi6-A with a brand new XiOne-SC (B) and exactly the same issues.

My guess is technical problems with any Wi-Fi access points EXCEPT Comcast's own Wi-Fi access points.

Comcast doesn't want you using your own network equipment and now their Wi-Fi only  cable boxes will start to fail.

I'm waiting to see if their "advanced" support has any ideas.

I was told by a manager at an Xfinity store recently that their Wi-Fi cables boxes will only work with their own cable modem/equipment. Hopefully someone from Xfinity can elaborate/confirm. There is mention in this FAQ that you can if you have upgraded from Flex.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. Can you clarify what you mean by the boxes are failing? Are you receiving an error code? We truly appreciate your business and I want to make sure that you are able to enjoy your services.

My xfinity 4K tv box is not working and I have wifi with xfinity. The picture cuts in and out every few minutes. We got the box recently and have had this problem for days. Same run around from Comcast with restarting box and unplugging the box. Tech support was scheduled to call today and no one followed up. Horrible service
