Comcast Labs Cable Signal Strength

In the Comcast Labs tab, I have the Cable Signal Strength option ON, to show as a bar graph.  If it drops to LOW, a single red bar shows on the upper right when I go the guide.  I refresh it, and most of the time, it resets to all green bars.

Why would the signal be read at different strengths, at different times on two different xg1-v4 boxes?

If the signal is low, why would it show on one box as low and the other box on good?

The signal is the docsis signal to the internal modem. It goes to the first decimal point. So either box could be fluctuating just a little bit between pass and fail at different times, each box maybe reading a different frequency too (there’s more than 1), not a big deal until it’s consistently red

I've been consistently receiving the low signal level bar graph described above.  Is there a diagnostic mode with which you can display the signal level?  (the X1 box has the number 'XG1-A' for what it's worth).
