Channel guide disappeared

I am using a smart Samsung tv circa 2019.

about 2-3 months ago (there was an upgrade) and the mini guide button disappeared from the tray where the other buttons sap,cc etc…exist, (those buttons are still there).

I eventually found a work around by going to recently viewed channels and hitting the back button- BUT- today sept.28 2022 I was notified of yet another upgrade to Xfinity beta.. now I can’t use my work around to access the channel guide anymore.

I have tried, unplugging the tv, rebooting the wireless router and removing and reinstalling the Xfinity app. Both my Samsung remote which came with the tv and another remote I bought pulled up the channel guide- so I know it’s not the remote.

I called Samsung technical and they walked me through an upgrade(which I already had automatically updated)

my non Xfinity channel guide works fine.

I pay $166/month for Xfinity, internet and tv. I feel like I am being ripped off and am going to call Verizon if I can’t get this resolved in a couple of days..

xfinity has NO TECH SUPPORT!!!!

Call me ASAP [Edited: "Personal Information"] PLEASE!

you have to have some responsibility for your app and your customers!!

shame on you! (soon to be Ex- Finity with many of your unhappy customers).

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!! FIX THIS PROBLEM!!!!

Sincerely,

Tony D.

the available memory resources in the TV prevent the full use of the stream app. Add a roku/firestick and use the new non-beta full function stream app.

@Rustyben

xfinity doesn’t provide a non beta version- any suggestions??

why can’t I reach anyone in the Comcast office that can help?

my Samsung should have plenty of space to handle the channel guide as it worked just fine for two years-

so I don’t think you really read my message or if you did _ you don’t understand the problem.

sincerely, Tony D

What I meant to say was the remote controls worked fine pulling up the channel guide UNTIL Xfinity upgraded the beta App once again.

the Xfinity app works fine on my iPhone (version6s) and an older iPad.

... smart Samsung tv circa 2019 ... mini guide button disappeared ... work around by going to recently viewed channels ... now I can’t use my work around ...

In https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/x1/missing-mini-guide/62db365d6f170a2f7efb365b?commentId=62dddb1c6a3f856065f6d062&replyId=62de6d416f170a2f7efb5a2e employee @XfinityEva wrote of the formerly Beta Stream App (for Partner Devices):

... Depending upon the amount of RAM in the TV (2GB or less), the MiniGuide feature was removed to improve performance and overall experience with the app.

Without the MiniGuide, to change the channel in the Stream App for Partner Devices (v1.14.3) on my Samsung I have to [Return] to the first Stream screen ("Now Playing"), select "Live TV", and scroll-scroll-scroll to the channel I want to watch. "Saved", "Browse", "Search", and "Settings" are also options on that screen.
