channel guide (Among other things) on the X1 is pretty pathetic

When the cableCard failed on my Tivo series 6 I decided to try an X1.   So far I am not likely it very much.  The channel guide is a big part of that.

The channel guide should always display as many lines as will fit on the screen given the font size (and boldness) of the text as specified by the user.   Even with the more readable text ON in accessibility I find the guide difficult to read and with so few Ines nearly impossible to browse.  Using half the screen height for a description of whatever show the cursor is over is silly.  Having a description available is great but it need not be for every show the cursor passes over.

Another example is the very poor contrast of the text in a submenu with the black background.  Those are very hard for me to read.  There should be options for always displaying text with a set brightness and background and size.

A good indication of how unintuitive the entire DVR operation is, is how often I have to google to figure out how to do something.

There is no way to show all scheduled recordings including series no matter how far out (not just 2 weeks), i.e. like the Tivo OnePass.

While there are fast forward >> and fast reverse << playback options there is (that I have been able to find) no way to just skip forward a back a few frames or a second say.  i.e. to just review or step through something you just saw.

It thinks the 2nd-Nth game of a series (at least in baseball) are repeats so if you have a series record set for "live games" it will not record them.

A great series recording feature (that Tivo does not have either) would be to add a recording option of "new + repeats starting at season X" instead of just new or new + all repeats.  That way if you have seen the first 10 seasons of a serious you wold not have to manually cancel all those recording but have the X1 only be looking for those starting at the specified season.

In 2025 this is all pretty inexcusable.

Hello @Jg167, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. We appreciate the feedback on some changes you would like on how our guide displays.  I have also attached an article on how to set the background darkness level, and also how to set your default guide view

Thanks, my background darkness level is already set to the max.   I really don't think your developers consulted with any vision experts on the assistive tech as it really does not help much.
