changing out old boxes

Just got my new X1 boxes to replace my old dvr boxes (have 2).

I only received one dvr and a non-dvr (XiD-C).

Shouldn't I have received 2 dvr boxes?

Does the non-dvr box connect somehow to the dvr box to retrieve recordings.

Does it do this through wifi or does it use the cloud?

Also, will I now be charged a monthly fee for dvr service or is it included with the box rental?

Or is that just for the cloud service?

I also direct messaged Xfinity Support and no response, been over 6 hours.

I guess I'm calling customer service??!!

It's my favorite because as I can watch my DVR shows on any of my boxes inside the home https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-anyroom-dvr.
