that is part of the bootup sequence (ca=cable, st=status). try connecting the same set top box to the modem's cable from the wall and see if it progresses to a complete bootup based on the front display.kk (did you check to see if the cable is connected to the 'input' (like in from cable) coax connector and not to the out to TV connector?
