Can't hook up TV box

Trying to install.  The TV box won't connect.  It says, " Please tighten your cable connections and restart your TV box."  


I tightened connection at wall, at splitter and on the TV box - did not fix

I replaced the coax cable - did not fix 


Need assistance/recommendations

Did it ever work? If it’s a new install how sure are you that the coax is live

Are you receiving any error codes with this error message? 

What's the make and model of the box you're using?
