Can't change the channel when first turning on tv

Lately when  I turn on the tv in the morning and try to change the channel or do anything else with the remote I get a message in upper right  corner on the tv screen..........."please give us a moment". Remote batteries are full and  I don't have any power saver settings turned on so wondering why its doing this all of a sudden. Did I miss an announcement ?

Does it eventually work? It's possible when it wakes up it takes a few seconds to reconnect to the servers. Even if power saving is turned off, it seems as if it still goes into a bit of a sleep mode.

Thanks Andy. Yes it comes  back on pretty quickly but I had never seen this happen until a few days ago so it worried me. If Comcast has 'forced' a sleep mode for those of us who don't use power saver thats fine but it would have been real nice to have been informed of the change.

Hello @TerriB, thanks for reaching out to us about this TV delay/Sleep mode concern. I too have experienced this happening on my TV in the past, where it will take a sec to display the screen giving me the message "please give us a moment", even though I did not have power-saving mode turned on either. Although I am happy to hear it comes up after a few seconds, I definitely get your concerns around this.

I can confirm we have not forced sleep mode on our cable boxes and I'm wondering, have you attempted a manual reboot on the cable box to see if that helps correct what is occurring (unplugging the power cable from the back of the cable box, waiting 10 secs, plugging the power cable back in, and allowing 10 mins or less for it to reboot)?

Thanks for reaching out ComcastAmira. Nope didn't do a reboot from the remote/app/unplug. I am leaving well enough alone as it has not happened in a few days......fingers crossed.

Hello there, @TerriB. How have things been over the past few days?

I no longer work for Comcast.
