Can't change channel when internet is down.

Recently discovered that I wasn't able to tune to a different channel when our internet is down, but cable service is still up.  Does anyone know a workaround for this?  X-1 box and X-1 modem.

Hi there! I'd be glad to ensure that this gets looked into further and work on your issues. Please send a private message with your name, the complete service address (including city, state, ZIP, suite number, etc), and the phone or account number, and any pertinent details-- like the ticket number(s)-- so we can help. You can do this by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner of your screen and send a message to the shared handle "Xfinity Support"

I’ve had the same problem. I thought that was the purpose of having a splitter?

@Sh00ter The splitter just provides the network signal to two devices: gateway/modem and TV Box. The cable TV/internet signals are on both connections out of the splitter.  Depending on which TV Box you have, it may use only the cable TV signal or both TV signal and internet signal.

@user_c00b14 @Sh00ter When the internet is down, X1 TV is useless. X1 software runs on the internet. If you are watching live tv when your internet goes down, you will not be able to change the channel until the internet comes back up. If you are watching a recording stored on a DVR and the internet goes down, the recording will still play, but you can't fast forward, rewind, stop, etc.. When you get to the end of the recording, the DVR freezes until the internet comes back up.
