Cannot control LG TV and LG Soundbard at the same time.

I have an LG TV and an LG soundbar. I am using an XR15 remote and I was able to pair and control both the TV volume and the volume on the soundbar for years until last week and all of sudden now I can only control the most recently paired device. If I pair the TV with the remote it works but as soon as I pair the soundbar it stops working with the TV and vice versa. I have reset the remote, tried each code given by Comcast for both the TV and soundbar. I have tried another XR15 remote from a different room and that didn't work either. I contacted xfinity support and was told that this is a known issue that would be fixed in 12hrs but that was over 6 days ago. Why am I no longer able to simultaneously co trol both LG TV and LG soundbar with the same remote?

I have an LG TV and LG Soundbar. I am using an XR15 remote. For years I have been able to control both my TV and my soundbar simultaneously with the XR15 remote until last week it just stopped being able to pair and control both the TV and the soundbar at the same time. I am able to pair the remote to the TV and it works but as soon as I pair the soundbar, the remote stops working for my TV and vice versa, if I pair the soundbar first it works with soundbar until I pair the TV and then only the TV works but not the soundbar.  I have done a reset of the remote as well as trying a different XR15 remote from another room butbthat did not fix the issue. I have tried each code that xfinity supplies for both the LG TV and LG soundbar but I am still not able to control both devices at the same time. I contacted customer support but all they said it is a known issue and would be fixed in 12hrs but that was 7 days ago and still not fixed.

How can I get my remote to control both the TV and soundbar at that same time like it always did?

Hey there @user_e77kix I am sorry to hear you are having these issues, you will want to reset the remote entirely, then pair it directly to the tv first before the sound bar! here are the steps for everything, in the correct order. I know it can be finicky sometimes!

Factory Reset the Xfinity Voice Remote Without a Setup Button (XR15)

  1. Press and hold the A (triangle) and D (diamond) buttons at the same time for three seconds until the status light changes from red to green.
  2. Press 9-8-1.
  3. The LED will blink blue three times to indicate that the remote was reset.

The factory reset unpairs your remote and TV Box, so you'll need to re-pair them. (The TV Box needs to be activated prior to re-pairing.) See instructions for pairing your Xfinity remote and TV Box.
