Cable box to Yamaha Receiver w/o reboot

Following:
1. Just over $20k in a home theater system
2. A total of just over 110 hours attempting to see comcast cable on the system.
3. 30 hours to attempt a "handshake"
4. Repeated calls to "service reps," speaking with such strong accents I can't understand them
5. Repeatedly being hung up on
6. Four trips for a new box
I Still cannot "pair", "sync", or "handshake" cable box with my Yamaha reciever and hence my awesome system sits idle. In addition my box does not have a port for cable to sound on receiver, and its durn near impossible to tell if the new box is on/off.

My solution: Take the millions you spend running ads touting your greatness and invest in Quality designers, customer focus groups, and training. Make certain there are leaders who not only have the responsibility but also the authority to make serious change.
I've read blogs across the country speaking to this inane and unnecessary problem and still Comcast does nothing. I believe I would rather slice my wrists and do pushups in saltwater than speak to one more person (tech) who is Comcast system challenged.

If any person knows how to pair Yamaha RXA840 with box please help. I've tried all the suggestions countless times. Is there something....ANYTHING I am missing?

Did you try bypassing your 20 K system and go right to the tv to set up and then introduce your system in the mix?

And do you get sound and video or not to the tv? Try coax to the tv just to get to setup?

I have done exactly as you have suggested. I receive video when straight to monitor but no sound. When introducing receiver (checked for operational assurity by company rep) I get nothing. I did get both for about 10 minutes once. Have reduped repeatedly. Nothing.
Standard HDMI from box to receiver and fiber optic from rec. To monitor which is about 70' away but that distance is nothing for f/o.

Is your receiver not able to pass through 720P, that’s the box default. Try changing it to 1080 or 4K when hooked up straight to your monitor if possible

Try using a fiber optic hdmi cable with audio return channel. I used one from my cable mart.com
