Buffering TV programs when changing channels

I recently returned to Xfinity and remember that before I left two years ago I was able to alternate between channels and it would buffer the program so I could still rewind and or record back to about 60 minutes if I was watching that long.  In addition, it was nice to return to the previous channel and not miss anything when the remote was accidentally hit.

Now whenever the channel changes, I have lost all buffering and cannot rewind. I read on this forum if I swapped my box from an XG1-P to XG-v4 that it would fix that problem. Unfortunately, there has been no change. Any suggestion you have would be appreciated.

Hello @user_113d6f, thanks for reaching out for help with your TV features. Pausing, rewinding and fast forwarding live TV is available on all X1 TV Boxes except for RNG150 devices. As part of a recent update to the X1 video playback controls, we've added three new buttons:

  • Jump Back
  • Live
  • Next

These buttons enable you to quickly navigate within the program you're viewing and between programs in a playlist. The Jump Back button sends you back to the beginning of a program, while the Live button joins you in progress to the program or recording you're watching.

With the lightning mode feature, you can get to where you left off in no time by pressing the fast forward or rewind button on your remote five times. This speed allows you to traverse content in under 12 seconds - regardless of the program's length.

Since the remotes don't have those buttons, how do you access the new features?

Never mind, I see them on screen, not on the remote.
