Broadcast (CBS, ABC, etc.) stream apps no longer working with Xfinity

As of this past weekend, have encountered error messages whenever I try to watch live TV with my normal streaming apps, such as CBS and ABC. I have never encountered this before. It says that the live stream is not available through Xfinity.

This is extremely frustrating as these apps have been the only way that I have been able to watch sports since the Xfinity Stream app has been glitching nonstop all season long.

Why are the normal broadcast live streams no longer available through Xfinity when we are still being charged broadcast TV fees?

How many others are experiencing these issues?

Xfinity needs to refund customers for consistent lack of service and fix the system once and for all.

@user_r4q25i I'm sorry to hear you're having issues while streaming outside your home. I am happy to troubleshoot with you to resolve this.

Are you using the Xfinity stream App or website at https://www.xfinity.com/stream/?

Are you seeing any error messages when you attempt to watch?

Same here. I’ve been on the phone with Agents for two hours, they seem to not know how to fix yet.
Not good timing with College and NFL games starting

@user_599647 it’s definitely intentional because of the College & NFL games starting up.

As this issue occurred with me and the latest stream app update on my Fire TV. CBS/FOX/NBC was working fine prior to update. Now it’s giving me “Subscription Required Code 12012”

I just talked to Xfinity advanced technical support.  It's a known system wide problem and estimated resolution is Sept. 4.  Many channels are out, including ABC, CBS, and Fox.  I got a big credit for the loss of service and hassle of trying to get status.  The phone number for technical support is 800-266-2278.  Do not call the Xfinity main number or online assistant.  You will get a credit only if you ask for it.  Of course, Xfinity is not disclosing this situation to its customers.

user_b62bd7 We have a reported issue currently for the Xfinity Stream app and local affiliate channels as you mentioned when using the TVGO Channel options in the Stream app. In most lineup options you should have a Filter make sure you have the TVGO filter turned off. I would also recommend using the HD Version of the channel if possible. I was able to test using my mobile device those were working with no errors. But we are aware of the issue and our engineers are working to correct the issue as soon as possible.

It's sickening that none of my local channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, etc.) can be viewed, but NBC (Comcast/Universal-owned) plays without issue. Xfinity customers need to band together and demand better quality and consistency in the service they provide for the hugely inflated prices they charge.

We pay for Premium cable with HBO MAX via Xfinity in Florida. We no longer get the CBS we pay for and ABC is hit or miss. Now we can’t see local news in Asheville on ABC. The solution seems to be cancellation of cable and get You Tube Tv. I am forced to keep Xfinity internet but I will look for other options.

Good evening @user_slnxvn, and thank you for taking the time to reach out on our Community Forums, we appreciate it and hope you are otherwise having a wonderful weekend! I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with ABC on your iPhone and tablet OS and assure you our team is here to help. We'd be happy to run through some troubleshooting steps. First we'll go over a few questions to help determine the best troubleshooting steps. To confirm, are you trying to watch ABC using the XFINITY Stream app or online web portal xfinity.com/stream? How long have you been having this issue? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app or any other troubleshooting steps?

This is an issue and quite frankly it’s Comcast doesn’t care. I used to be able to watch nationally televised events and local events for my region.  And i payed for that service.  Now, i can not do that because of who knows why but do you think Comcast has adjusted their pricing now that they offer less?????  No, the answer is no, less product same amount of money.

@user_tlhojf Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. We know how important it is to be able to watch your local channels. Can you clarify what programs you aren't able to access and if it is only when you are using the Xfinity Stream app?
