braves vision glitches constantly

We have an XG1v3 settop box with pristine RF levels, 44 dB SNR, and yet channel 1254 is constantly glitching.  Audio cuts out, video freezes, often both at the same time.  Tiling as well.  The difference between this channel and all the other linear channels in the guide is that Braves Vision is delivered via 8 Mbps IP video stream over the embedded DOCSIS modem inside the STB.  But I've got a good drop, so is it just that this old STB can't keep up with this stream?  Yes, I've rebooted.  And it's the only box I have so there's nothing to compare it to.  And I don't have Xfinity internet, so the Xfinity Stream app is basically dead to me.  Any thoughts?

Hello @supernintendo thank you for reaching out on our community forum! Is this the only channel that this is happening on? Have you done any other troubleshooting steps? Also, do you know how long you have had the box?

This problem has happened only on this channel ever since Comcast started to carry this channel.  I've also returned the box to the Xfinity store and got a new box, and the exact same thing happens - ONLY ON THIS CHANNEL.

Troubleshooting I have done is launch the debug screens and look at DOCSIS levels and SNR since this is an IPTV channel that is delivered over DOCSIS and not a QAM.  My DOCSIS Rx level is 0 dBmV and the SNR is over 40 (only ~27 needed for clean data to flow).

I have also looked at other IPTV channels in the lineup and they are using lower bitrates.  I really think that this 8 Mbps encoding of this channel is just too much for this old hardware.  And I can't get an Xi box because I don't have Comcast internet :(

Gotcha, I do appreciate the additional context and given your current setup it stands to reason that you're right about the channel being impacted by its IPTV broadcasting. Naturally, older equipment is going to struggle to keep up with newer channels being broadcast in ways the equipment was not designed for, so there is only so much that can be done in that regard. That said, I still want to make sure we explore all options as I know how annoying it is to miss a Guards game for myself.

Up to this point, have any technicians been to your home to review the issue further?
