Box Issues
For quite a while, we've been having some issues with our main DVR box. As far as I can tell, it's an XG1v3 (it's not a 4k box and it doesn't have the port on the front-right corner). Mostly, the issues have been limited to the box not responding when turning the tv on. We'll use the remote to turn the tv on, and the screen either shows the tv's "no signal" screen or just an all-black screen. Pressing any box-related function on the remote (Xfinity, Guide, etc.) sometimes gets a reaction from the remote LED on the front of the box, sometimes not. This usually resolves itself after 5-15 minutes, or sometimes by switching the two inputs on the tv. But for the past few days, the box will reset itself while watching a recorded program. For example, we'll be watching a recording and when we press FF (or hit play to stop the FF), the video will freeze for a few seconds, then an error appears on the top-right of the screen -- something to the effect of "There is a problem with this recording, we'll fix it." Then the box does a full reset.
Does this sound like it could be an issue with the box itself, or the signals going to/from the box? Any suggestions on things I could check (aside from the standard tight connections, etc.)?
