audio descriptions won't turn off

Audio descriptions are turned on for saved programs we play on our DVR. I've tried using the voice command on the remote to turn them off, using the down button to scroll to "audio descriptions" and turning them off, using the virtual assistant to turn them off, resetting the box ... and still I am getting audio descriptions on DVR playback. How do I get the audio descriptions turned off?

Good evening, @user_a146d9. Thank you for reaching out about the Voice Guidance being stuck on. I must say that would drive me a bit crazy. We are glad to help and get that shut off. Thank you for listing all of the ways you have already attempted to shut this off. I have 1 more try and if that doesn't work we will take a look at your account.

  1. Tap the B key on your remote to open the Accessibility Settings screen again.
  2. Tap B again to reopen the On/Off menu.
  3. Press OK to turn Voice Guidance off.

Please let us know if this option fixes it or not.

@xfinityray may have misunderstood your question. when that next happens press the down button on your xfinity remote control. there are 3 icons on the bottom left. the first one 'if checked' turns on video descriptions on shows that provides it. that means your set top box will use that audio stream instead of the normal one. I have had some PBS type shows that had the original audio channel playing with descriptions but that is pretty rare and in that case there is no 'regular' audio stream.
