Audio and video skips during DVR Playback

When watching a show recorded on DVR  the video and audio will randomly skip or cut out, it doesn’t do it on normal channel, I swapped boxes and same problem is happening, anyone else have this?

Good morning @ and thank you so much for reaching out on our forums with your DVR issues, I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue but rest assured you've reached the right team to help! What is the model of your DVR box? Does this happen on all recordings or recordings from a specific channel? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? We look forward to working with you!

it happens on all channels.  Comcast tech came ten days ago and could not figure out how to correct the distortions in the picture

Cannot find the message icon you refer to.  Yesterday, August 7, an Xfinity tech came to my house and installed a new cable box.  This replaced the cable box which was installed on June 24 by a different Xfinity tech.  Apparently all my problems with playing back recordings were caused by the cable box installed on June 24.  Yesterday I played a cooking show recorded yesterday morning for the tech to see the distortions.  After he installed a new cable box he said I needed to record anew in order to determine whether the distortions had been eliminated.  He assumed that playing a prior recording, now that a different cable box had been installed, would not be a good test.  Obviously he thought the new cable box would not be able to eliminate the distortions that were on the prior recordings.  Not so.  After he left I made a new recording and there were no distortions or audio disruptions.  I then played some of the prior recordings and the distortions had now disappeared.  So apparently the cable box does have some influence on prior recordings as well as current recordings.  For six weeks I've had Xfinity sending signals and updates to my TV over and over again ad infinitum.  And trying to get in touch with a human being is like asking for gold.  The automated voice intends only to send a link to the internet and then the internet connection has only one track and that track is to keep sending signals to my TV.  Believe me, this has been six weeks of more than a 20-year plus paying customer should ever have to put up with.  I hope a qualified Xfinity competitor comes on the scene before I have any more problems with the TV and DVR recordings and playback.

next time this happens, use a smart device (phone, tablet, PC) and access same recording on the stream app/web site. does it also have the same glitch at the same moment in the video?

@Rustyben I'm not willing to use some other method of playing back my recordings.  This problem has lasted for six weeks and is now fixed with a new cable box.  Had I not got it fixed I would be using your method for ever.  No way.  I wanted the problem corrected and now it has happened.
