Apple TV no longer working on X1 box
I have been watching Apple TV through my Xfinity X1 box for several years. Now, all of the sudden, Apple TV will not work. I've tried rebooting the box and rebooting my modem/router and it still won't work. I did a Live Chat with an Xfinity agent and was told that some X1 boxes are having this problem now. She also told me the fix is that she can send me a new box, but that she needs to charge me $12 to do so. WHY should I incur a charge when this is an Xfinity problem with their software? I asked her to waive the fee and she said she cannot.
I asked to be escalated to a Supervisor and she kept telling me no one was available and that I have to call the 800 number. I am in no mood to fight with that darn auto attendant for 20 minutes trying to get to a live human being.
Has anyone figured out how to get Apple TV working again, or if we need new boxes....how do we get this fee waived?

I should also mention that the Live Agent refused to get me to a supervisor, would not provide an email for a supervisor and would not give me a direct phone number so I don't have to go through the hassle of fighting with the auto attendant. In the end, she ended up "hanging up" on me by ending the chat without a resolution.
And yes, I did print and save the chat if some who is "an Official Xfinity Employee." would like the transcript.
