Apple TV app looping me back to activation screen repeatedly

Unlike all the other apps I access through Xfinity, the Apple TV app doesn't activate properly on my TV. I follow all the steps to sign into my Apple TV account, and if I go to my PC, I can see that Apple knows my TV by "name" and model. But every time I enter the code provided successfully via my cell or PC and wait for the TV screen to "refresh," I'm told to enter my Apple password. And when I click the "Sign In" icon via my remote...it sends me BACK to the activation screen. So I can't enter my password. And I've started over and over and over and over again...entering countless codes...and I still can't watch Apple TV via Xfinity. What's going on? How do I fix this?

After being thrown back into the loop again, I wound up calling Apple TV and contacting Xfinity via Twitter DM, too. And I don't know who did it, but this afternoon when I went to Apple TV I was good to go again. But I mean...is this going to be the deal forever? You're watching a show and suddenly, bam, you're back in the loop? That's not good at all...

@kekaAZ  This problem has been going on for months for many! I doggedly persisted trying to find a solution to my infinite loop login with Xfinity and all of it came to naught. The Apple tech I talked to was clueless and suggested it was Xfinity's issue. I signed up for Apple's free three month promotion and after watching one episode of one show I was inexplicably logged off and was unable to log back on. I( was able to watch +Apple + on my computer and my iPhone, however.

What's maddening about your post is that the issue was resolved but you have no idea how and nothing from either company on how they managed to resolve it? So, clearly not a helpful post for those who have yet to find a solution.

@fbardamu17 I feel you. I'm nervous about Apple TV now because I'm not sure which company actually resolved the issue...or how. So if it happens again...I'll have to hit up Twitter and Apple TV by phone again, I guess. And I really don't like that.

I’ve been trying for a week to get in. Infuriating, honestly.

@user_c67ccb I essentially was never successful logging on to the tv for the duration of the three month promotional. And that was months ago!

It’s obvious they still haven’t solved this….whoever is responsible. I think the problem points to Xfinity because I was easily able to logon to both my phone and my computer.

I just got signed out again, but was able to use the Q code to get back in again right away. The free trial ad wasn't there this time, so I just took a shot and the app reset and let me in. So this is going to be a "catch as catch can" affair now, apparently. On and off again, without warning.
