A note of appreciation (and a plea) for the X1 Landscape Screen Saver photos
I wanted to share some feedback regarding the "Entertainment Saver" screen savers on the X1 cable service. While I know many of these slides are used for network promos, I am writing to express how much I love the rotation of breathtaking landscape photographs from around the world.
For a long time, I genuinely looked forward to the rotation of these images around the first of every month to see what new places would be featured. They are beautiful, pleasant to look at, and a wonderful moment of pause. I’ve deeply enjoyed the curation—everything from the ultra-modern night cityscapes in China and ancient temples in Vietnam, to the terraced rice fields in Cambodia, the strange rock formations in the Australian Outback, and the towering peaks of Montana.
A few months ago, these vanished and went to all-promo slides. Then, about a week ago, they returned for just a day or two, disappeared, and now today they are back again.
I know that Comcast is a business and advertising is part of the service, and I know plans won't alter based on just one customer's preference. But I wanted to share how much those specific, peaceful photos meant to me. If anyone on the UI/UX or content curation teams reads this, please know that your choice of photography is noticed, highly appreciated, and brings a lot of quiet joy to the living room. I truly hope you keep them in the rotation.
