A few questions while thinking about coming back to the TV service

I had Xfinity TV for quite a long time and then dropped it to explore the world of streaming.  With streaming prices going up and having to use a patchwork of services to get all the content I want, I am considering coming back to Xfinity TV.  I see that it is now branded as X1.  I do have a couple of questions as I consider my options.

First, I used to have one of those Xfinity cable box/DVR combined unit that had a hard drive in it to record anything I wanted to DVR.  I dropped the TV service about the time the option for cloud DVR was just being introduced.  Is all of the DVR recording now done in the cloud with the TV box being without the hard drive or are the hard drive boxes still being used?

Second, since I already have Xfinity Internet service active and still have the connection to hook the Xfinity TV unit into, I presume it can be a self install where I just hook it all up?

Third, can I go to my local Xfinity store to pick up the Xfinity TV unit or does it have to be shipped to me.  I think I have seen where if I add the service to my account that the equipment can be shipped to me but since my store is close to me figured why not just go pick it up.

Lastly, if I happen to be traveling in the same state as my service for a long holiday weekend, can I access all of my channels and DVR content with the Xfinity Stream app?

Thanks in advance

Two of my 4K boxes are DVRs, although I'm not sure if all the recording is done locally now.

You should be able to self install.   I've never had Xfinity come do that for me.

Stores have X1 boxes.  But, if you are doing 4K, the wired XG1v4 DVR is rarely available at stores.

Xfinity Stream works away from home for the content in your package.

It depends. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/tv-go-live-streaming-networks
