4K Xfinity Box

I’ve done everything trying to contact someone to order the XG1v4 box for 4k on select programs. It’s impossible to call in and speak to someone on the support line and the xfinity store said they can’t do anything for it and you have to call. Has anyone had any success ordering one of these boxes?

You could try the chat bot. Tell it you need an XG1v4 setup kit mailed to you.

FWIW I found one at a local Xfinity store and swapped my old HD box for the 4K box. It worked for exactly 1 day and after that would only show a black screen and throw errors. I spent 3 hours on the phone with various levels of tech support, with numerous reboots and reconfigures and rebooting my modem, etc. Nothing would get the box to work again. The first appointment I could get was three days out, and there was no guarantee that the service tech could do anything either. So I took it back and got an HD box again. It's worked flawlessly. If there's something I absolutely must watch in 4K, I can get it via the Xfinity Stream app on either my TV or my Apple TV.

You'll find quite a few posts in here from people who had problems with this box. That being said, people don't usually bother to post "hey it worked great!" You may not have any problems. Just something to think about.

I have had nothing but problems with this box XG1v4 going to just get a reg hd box!

There's almost no 4K content on broadcast TV.  Just a few sports events every week.  Almost all the 4K content is in apps like Netflix, where the quality is better using a streamer.   Also, no Dolby Vision through the XG1v4.

I have no idea why I even bothered with a 4k box I watch netflix and amazon prime videos on my 4k tv apps LOL

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

   Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it
