4k Wi-Fi Box - Poor wifi signal reception

Can anyone explain to me why my wifi strength indicator, as shown in the upper right corner in xfinity menu, always shows low signal strength, only at level one or two of three? When the household wifi signal is great and the menu setting says "your wifi signal strength is excellent."
